The retired U.S. survey foot has a different metric definition, 1200/3937 m. NIST ended its routine use after December 31, 2022, apart from historical and legacy applications. If a dataset explicitly says “U.S. survey foot,” do not treat it as an international foot without reviewing its coordinate system and metadata. The calculator does not silently reinterpret legacy survey units.
