Use this Subway calorie calculator to estimate calories for selected U.S. sandwiches or assemble a custom footlong from bread, protein, cheese, vegetables, sauces and extras. Published menu totals and component references are kept separate so you can see exactly which calculation method is being used.

Estimate Calories in Your Subway Order

Choose a published menu item or build a custom U.S. footlong using the listed component references.

Calculation method
Menu selection
Uses the current official U.S. online nutrition total for the selected size.
Add calories from a side, drink or modification only when you have a current menu, package or app value.
Comparison reference
The FDA uses 2,000 calories per day as a general nutrition-label guide. It is not a personalized calorie goal.
Independent-tool notice: This calculator is produced by 1Dollars and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Subway or Subway IP LLC. U.S. recipes, portions, availability and displayed values may change.

What the Subway Calorie Calculator Estimates

The calculator offers two methods because a published sandwich total and a made-to-order component estimate are not the same type of information.

Selected menu itemUses the displayed total for a named U.S. sandwich and size, then adds only the extra calories you enter.
Custom footlongAdds the listed U.S. footlong bread, protein, cheese, vegetables, sauces and extras.
Reference comparisonShows mathematical comparison with an entered calorie reference; it does not prescribe how much you should eat.

The menu references were reviewed from Subway's U.S. nutrition resources and online customizer in July 2026. The downloadable U.S. nutrition information was dated January 2026.

How to Use the Calculator

For a selected menu sandwich

  1. Select a listed sandwich.
  2. Choose 6-inch or Footlong.
  3. If needed, add a verified calorie total for a side, drink or modification.
  4. Review the estimated order total and reference comparison.

For a custom footlong

  1. Open the Custom footlong tab.
  2. Select bread, protein and cheese.
  3. Check the vegetables, sauces, add-ons and seasonings included in the order.
  4. Enter any documented ingredient calories not listed.
  5. Confirm the result against the current Subway app, restaurant information or nutrition guide before relying on it.

How Subway Calories Are Calculated

In menu-item mode, the calculator starts with the published calorie total for the selected standard build. In custom mode, it adds each chosen component.

Menu estimate = published sandwich calories + entered additional calories

Custom footlong estimate = bread + protein + cheese + vegetables + sauces + extras

Reference percentage = estimated calories ÷ entered reference × 100

The custom footlong default reproduces the displayed B.M.T. build: Artisan Italian bread, B.M.T. meats, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and regular mayonnaise. Those listed components total 1,190 calories.

Roast Beef500 calories1,010 caloriesPublished menu total
Grilled Chicken510 calories1,020 caloriesPublished menu total

These totals cover only the listed standard-build item and size. A customized sandwich, promotional recipe, regional menu or changed portion may have a different value.

Why a Footlong Is Not Always Exactly Double

It is tempting to multiply a 6-inch calorie number by two, but published totals may be rounded and the standard build or serving quantities shown by a menu system may not produce a perfectly doubled displayed value. For example, 590 doubled is 1,180, while the current B.M.T. Footlong total is displayed as 1,190.

Calculator rule: Selected menu mode stores the displayed 6-inch and Footlong values separately. It does not estimate one size by doubling or halving the other.

Footlong Sauces, Cheese and Extras

Customization can materially change the total. The values below are U.S. footlong component references shown in the current online customizer, not universal values for every size or market.

Vegetables still contribute calories, even when the numbers are small. The custom builder therefore adds each checked vegetable rather than treating all vegetables as zero.

What the 2,000-Calorie Reference Means

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration uses 2,000 calories per day as a general guide on nutrition labels. Individual needs can be higher or lower and vary with factors such as age, sex, height, weight and physical activity.

Do not treat the reference as a personalized target. The calculator lets you change it for mathematical comparison, but it does not estimate energy needs or provide a diet plan.

If you need an individualized nutrition plan or are managing a health condition, consult a qualified health professional.

Calories Are Only One Part of Nutrition

Calories measure energy, but they do not describe the complete nutritional profile of a meal. Depending on your needs, also review serving size, protein, fibre, total fat, saturated fat, carbohydrates, added sugars and sodium.

  • A lower-calorie choice is not automatically appropriate for every person.
  • Two orders with similar calories can have different sodium, fibre or protein.
  • Drinks, cookies, chips and condiments can change the complete meal total.
  • Portion and preparation differences can affect the number actually served.

Allergens and Customization Limits

This tool cannot determine allergen safety, cross-contact risk or ingredient suitability. Calories also do not reveal whether a product contains milk, egg, wheat, soy, sesame, peanuts, tree nuts, fish or another allergen.

For allergy decisions: Review Subway's current ingredient and allergen information and speak directly with restaurant staff. Do not rely on this calculator for allergen or medical-diet safety.

Recipes, suppliers, regional offerings and portions can change. A store may not offer every component shown, and a promotional item may use different ingredients.

Data Method and Related Tools

Published totals and component references were checked against the Subway U.S. nutrition information page and its online menu customizer. The meaning of the 2,000-calorie guide was checked against the FDA Nutrition Facts Label guide. Subway and its product names are referenced descriptively; this independent 1Dollars tool is not an official Subway calculator.

Subway Calorie Calculator FAQs

Is this the official Subway calorie calculator?

No. This is an independent 1Dollars educational calculator. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Subway or Subway IP LLC.

Which Subway nutrition data does the calculator use?

It uses selected U.S. menu totals and U.S. footlong component references reviewed in July 2026. The official downloadable nutrition information available during review was dated January 2026.

How many calories are in a B.M.T.?

The reviewed U.S. menu displayed 590 calories for the standard 6-inch B.M.T. and 1,190 calories for the standard Footlong B.M.T. Customization can change the total.

Why is a Footlong not always exactly twice the 6-inch calories?

Published values may reflect rounding and separately displayed serving information. The calculator therefore uses each published size total rather than automatically doubling or halving it.

Do Subway sauces change the calorie total?

Yes. Sauces can add different amounts. The custom footlong builder includes separate calorie references for the listed sauces.

Are Subway vegetables zero calories?

Not all of them. Many have low displayed values, but the calculator includes the listed calories for every checked vegetable.

Does the total include a drink, cookie or chips?

Not automatically. In selected menu mode, enter their current documented calories in the Additional calories field if you want them included.

Can this calculator check Subway allergens?

No. Calorie totals cannot determine allergens or cross-contact risk. Review current official allergen information and speak with restaurant staff.

Is 2,000 calories my personal daily target?

Not necessarily. The FDA uses 2,000 calories as a general nutrition-label guide. Personal energy needs vary, and this calculator does not prescribe a target.

Why might the restaurant or app show a different calorie total?

Recipes, suppliers, portions, regional menus, substitutions, promotional products, rounding and data updates can all change the displayed or served total.
